Chase Burns picked up his 10th win Thursday as three Cincinnati homers powered a series-salvaging victory in Milwaukee.

The Cincinnati Reds finally solved the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday afternoon, riding three home runs and six strong innings from Chase Burns to a 7-2 win at American Family Field. The victory salvaged the finale of a four-game series and was Cincinnati’s first over Milwaukee in seven meetings this season.

Dropping the first three games of the set by scores of 5-3, 7-2 and 4-2, the Reds arrived at Thursday’s day game needing a win to avoid a sweep. They got one in front of 41,390, finishing with 11 hits to Milwaukee’s four.

Burns earned his 10th win of the season, working six innings and allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts on 89 pitches. The 23-year-old right-hander improved to 10-1, and through Thursday afternoon his 10 wins sat tied with Cristopher Sanchez and Justin Wrobleski for the second-most in MLB, behind only Milwaukee’s Aaron Ashby at 12.

Selected No. 2 overall by Cincinnati out of Wake Forest in 2024, Burns made his MLB debut against the New York Yankees on June 24, 2025. Through 17 starts this season, he owns a 2.40 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP with 116 strikeouts in 97.2 innings.
