Venezuelan catcher Alfredo Duno carries the torch for Cincinnati’s farm system as high-profile draft picks struggle to climb the rankings, leaving the franchise searching for future stars.

In MLB.com's final top 100 prospects rankings of the season, the Cincinnati Reds had only one player on the list, making them one of four teams in Major League Baseball with just one prospect represented.

The lone Reds' prospect on the list is catcher Alfredo Duno, a 20-year old out of Venezuela who hit .281 with an .899 OPS and 19 home runs in 2026. He was signed in January of 2023, and hit .303 that season in 45 games. Duno became a power threat in 2025 hitting 18 home runs in 113 games.

Now, he’s the #20 player on the MLB’s top 100 prospects list.

This updated list for the Reds is more about who isn’t on there. Even after a really hot start including eight home runs and  a .940 OPS in 96 at-bats, 2026 first round pick Justin Lebron didn’t make the list. He was taken with the 18th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. Lebron is the Reds’ #3 prospect.

Steele Hall, another shortstop who was the first round pick of the Reds in 2025, didn’t make the list, and is currently the Reds #2 prospect. In 2026, he hit .259 with an .826 OPS with 11 home runs and an impressive 31 stolen bases.

Left handed hitter Cam Collier is trending toward being a bust after the Reds took him in the first round of the 2022 draft. He was picked at age 17 out of Chipola junior college in Florida. He hit .209 with 18 home runs in 2026, and has a career .244 batting average and a .736 OPS across 1,690 at bats since 2022.

Corner outfielder Austin Hendrick is in the same boat, having a .211 batting average and 84 career home runs since he was drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. He had a stint in the 2026 season where he had a hot streak with power and extra base hits, but eventually fizzled out.

The Reds' front office does deserve credit for the selections of Chase Burns, Rhett Lowder, and Sal Stewart, as all three players were first-round picks who could still very well be in the minor leagues but were good enough to have had muted stints in the Reds' farm system before joining the big league club.

Still, Reds fans will want to see Justin Lebron, Steele Hall, and even Tyson Lewis have big seasons in the minors next year to prove they can be franchise-altering players in the organization’s future.
