Petit goes to Tigers from Rockies

Right-handed pitcher RJ Petit is going to the Detroit Tigers.

Petit was a 2025 Rule 5 pick by the Colorado Rockies. Now, though, he's being returned to Detroit and will see if he can get his career back on track. The Tigers picked Petit in the Rule 5 Draft in 2025.

He missed the entire 2026 MLB season due to Tommy John surgery. Petit did get some work in Spring Training for the Rockies, but an elbow injury put him on the shelf in March.

Petit does not have any major-league experience to note. He was a non-40-man-roster player, too.
