Bobby Witt Jr. is ready for the new season.

Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. is poised for another big season. During an appearance on Foul Territory, the shortstop discussed how he is feeling ahead of the upcoming '26 campaign.

"I feel really good, I feel strong," Witt said.

It is a simple admission, but one that will both excite the Royals while frightening opponents. Opposing pitchers will be especially worried.

Bobby Witt Jr. Set for Another Big Season

Witt is only 25 years old, yet he has already established himself as one of the true superstars in MLB. While he may not quite be at Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani's level yet, Witt is not far behind -- and that is saying something since Judge and Ohtani are unstoppable at times.

Witt finished second in American League MVP voting in 2024 and fourth in 2025. He took a step back in 2025 compared to 2024, but he still had a tremendous campaign.

In 2024, the slugger slashed .332/.389/.588. The 2025 campaign saw him hit .295/.351/.852. Witt had 32 home runs in 2024 compared to 23 in 2025, but he stole 38 bases during the '25 season compared to 31 in 2024.

Of course, Witt was an All-Star both years. He also earned Silver Slugger and Gold Glove Awards in each season.

Witt's defense is another element of his game that makes him a superstar. In fact, he ranked in the 100th percentile in outs above average in 2025. In other words, Witt is one of the best defensive players in all of baseball. When you add that fact on top of his elite offensive prowess and impressive ability to steal bases, Witt is among the most all-around best players in the game.

The question heading into 2026 is whether or not Witt can lead Kansas City back to the postseason. In 2024, the Royals were 86-76 and made a playoff push. They did not win the AL Central, but Kansas City still earned a Wild Card spot. While the Royals were not bad in 2025 -- they went 82-80 -- Kansas City missed the postseason.

The Royals have continued to build around Witt. If the starting rotation holds up its end of the bargain, the lineup and bullpen will take care of the rest.

Regardless of whether or not they reach the postseason, Bobby Witt Jr. could potentially earn his first career MVP in 2026. However, his primary goal is to help his team win.
