Maikel Garcia provided an injury update on Friday.

The Kansas City Royals are playing the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night. Third baseman Maikel Garcia recently exited a Royals' game with an elbow injury concern. While he is not playing on Friday, the third baseman is reportedly feeling better, according to Anne Rogers.

Garcia is feeling better after having treatment. It seems as if he could be available off the bench. However, the Royals would probably prefer to give him the full day off as he recovers from the injury. Barring any setbacks, Garcia would like to play on Saturday.

Although he is not in the lineup on Friday night, this is an encouraging update without question. With Garcia not in the lineup, Nick Loftin is hitting leadoff and playing third base against the Angels.

It is no secret that the Royals have struggled in 2026. Garcia, though, has played well for the most part. The 26-year-old infielder is hitting .265/.336/.388 to go along with two home runs and six doubles.

Kansas City is just 8-17 overall, however. The Royals are in last place in the American League Central division.

It goes without saying, but they need Garcia on the field. Kansas City is searching for answers. Garcia is one of the best players on the roster, so the team will need him in order to get back on track.

The Royals will continue to provide updates on Maikel Garcia's injury status as they are made available.

Royals Set to Host Angels on Friday Night

The Royals will host the Angels on Friday night in Kansas City.

The Angels will enter the series with a 12-14 overall record. Los Angeles is in third place in the American League West. Overall, it has been an inconsistent season for the Angels, who are hoping to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2014 season.

LA has out-performed Kansas City, though. The Royals had high expectations heading into the new campaign. They can still figure things out, but the season has not gone according to plan up to this point to say the least.

Noah Cameron (1-1, 5.40 ERA) is set to start for the Royals on Friday night. The Angels will turn to Yusei Kikuchi (0-2, 5.63) for the game.

Cameron will look to lead the Royals to a big victory. First pitch for the Angels-Royals clash is scheduled for 7:40 PM EST on Friday night in Kansas City.
