3 players on the Kansas City Royals have been nominated for an award.

The Kansas City Royals had a disappointing 2026 season, finishing 69-93 and last in the American League Central.

Despite that, three of their players are up for the 2026 All-MLB Team. Bobby Witt Jr., Carter Jensen and Jac Caglianone were all named nominees earlier this week.

Witt remains the most impactful player in the group. The 26-year-old shortstop hit .281 with 18 home runs, 54 RBIs, 45 stolen bases and an .800 OPS across 143 games. He made his third straight All-Star team this year, this time as a starter after earning reserve selections in 2024 and 2025.

This is also his third consecutive All-MLB nomination. He was named to the First Team in both 2024 and 2025 and is trying to become a three-time First Team selection, which would further cement his standing as one of the best shortstops in the game.

Jensen gives the Royals another reason to be excited heading into 2027. The rookie catcher hit .239 with a .323 on-base percentage and .790 OPS, along with 27 home runs and 81 RBIs across 149 games.

He was particularly impressive down the stretch, winning both AL Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month honors for September after hitting eight home runs and posting a 1.194 OPS during the month. He also set a rookie record with 64 extra-base hits on the season.

Caglianone had a strong first full season as well. The 23-year-old hit .289 with 23 home runs, 75 RBIs and an .834 OPS across 143 games, giving Kansas City another middle-of-the-order bat to build around.

He earned AL Player of the Month honors in August and participated in the Home Run Derby. His .289 average ranked among the league's best at his position, and the power he showed throughout the year makes him one of the more intriguing young hitters in baseball heading into next season.

The All-MLB Team was introduced in 2019 to recognize the best players at each position across the majors. Awards are split into First and Second Teams, with fans accounting for half the vote and a panel of experts handling the other half. Voting for the 2026 class is open through Oct. 9, with winners set to be announced Nov. 11.

Kansas City did not get the season it wanted, but Witt, Jensen and Caglianone represent a legitimate young core to build around. Turning that individual talent into a winning team will be the challenge this offseason.
