Vinnie Pasquantino Hilariously Responds to Royals Moving Fences in cover image

Pasquantino is looking forward to more home runs.

The Kansas City Royals recently announced that they are moving the outfield fences in at Kauffman Stadium. It appears the fences will be moved inward about nine to 10 feet. During a recent episode of Wake Up Barstool, one of the hosts joked that Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino will see a decline in triples as a result of the Royals' decision. However, the host acknowledged there could be an uptick in home runs. Pasquantino's response on X (formerly Twitter) was quite hilarious.

"Ohhhh noooo more home runs less triples I’m bummed," the Royals first baseman wrote.

Home Runs are Not a Problem for Vinnie Pasquantino

While Pasquantino may see a decline in triples (he hit one total triple in 2025 and has three for his career), the chances of an increase in long balls are quite high. Home runs have never been a problem for Pasquantino, however.

He's played at the MLB level since 2022, but Pasquantino has only appeared in 130 or more games in two seasons, which came in 2024 and 2025. During the '24 campaign, he hit 19 home runs across 131 games. The 2025 season saw him crush 32 homers in 160 contests.

Pasquantino's 4.7 home run rate was a career-high mark. He elevated the ball on a more consistent basis, recording a career-high 29.7 percent fly ball rate. If he enters 2026 with a similar approach, Pasquantino may end up nearing 40 long balls.

Although he is clearly "bummed" about a potential lack of triples, the Royals' move to bring in the fences could help Pasquantino earn his first career All-Star selection in 2026.

Royals' Lineup

Pasquantino certainly won't be the only position player to benefit from the decision. Bobby Witt Jr. is already one of the best players in the sport and the thought of him hitting more home runs is surely frightening for opposing pitchers. Salvador Perez offers plenty of power as well.

Maikel Garcia is becoming one of the better third basemen in the game. The Royals have also added depth with guys such as Lane Thomas and Isaac Collins.

Even if the Royals did not make the fences change, this lineup would have intriguing potential. However, adding a few more long balls to the offense won't hurt matters.

Kansas City is hoping to return to the postseason in 2026. The lineup will likely need to lead the way in order for the team to accomplish that goal.
