The Detroit Tigers held off the Houston Astros on Monday night, taking game one of the series in Houston in extra innings, 7-6.
The two teams will run it back on Tuesday night at 8:10 p.m. ET in Houston. Here's a look at how the two teams line up.
For the Astros, who enter the game at 2-3 overall.
1) Jeremy Pena, SS
2) Alex Bregman, 3B
3) Yordan Alvarez, LF
4) Jose Abreu, 1B
5) Kyle Tucker, RF
6) Corey Julks, DH
7) Jake Meyers, CF
8) Mauricio Dubon, 2B
9) Martin Maldonado, C
SP: Framber Valdez
Interesting to see that manager Dusty Baker is putting Alvarez out in the field again. Typically a DH, Alvarez has played the OF more in the wake of Michael Brantley's absence due to recovery from shoulder surgery. Alvarez hit another massive home run last night, which tied the game, before the Tigers ultimately won it.
Valdez gets the start on the mound after tossing five innings on Opening Day against the White Sox. He received a no decision. He went 17-6 last year with a 2.82 ERA and helped the Astros win the World Series.
As for the Tigers tonight, who enter at 1-3...
1) Matt Vierling, RF
2) Javier Baez, SS
3) Riley Greene, CF
4) Spencer Torkelson, 1B
5) Eric Haase, LF
6) Miguel Cabrera, DH
7) Jonathan Schoop, 3B
8) Jake Rogers, C
9) Ryan Kreidler, 2B
SP: Matt Manning
It's the first start of the year for Manning, who is coming off a year in which he missed nearly the entire year with injury. He went 2-3 in just 63.0 innings with a 3.43 ERA.
