The Los Angeles Angels will play the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday at 3:10 p.m. ET at the Angels' spring training home at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Tony Gonsolin will get the start for the Dodgers Friday. Mookie Betts will lead off and play second base, the position he started his career at before moving to right field early in his career with the Boston Red Sox. With Gavin Lux injured, Chris Taylor will play shortstop. Jonny DeLuca will patrol right field. Perhaps Betts could see more time at second base this season, with Lux out.

Former Dodgers pitcher Tyler Anderson will take the ball for the Angels Friday. Anderson experienced a breakout year in his one season with the Dodgers in 2022, earning him a three-year, $39 million contract to remain in Los Angeles, only joining the Angels, instead of returning to the Dodgers. Anderson, a former first round pick in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies, posted a career-low 2.57 ERA and 1.00 WHIP and logged a career-high 178.2 innings last season. He was named an All-Star for the first time in his seven-year career.
