Now 166 players are left to exchange proposed numbers with their teams on Thursday after these three players were locked up.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, and Houston Astros all narrowly avoided the arbitration deadline with their respective players. Dodgers right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol, Marlins lefty pitcher Braxton Garrett, and Astros righty Hayden Wesneski all agreed to one-year deals, leaving 166 MLB players to exchange their proposed salaries with their teams on Thursday. Per ESPN, Graterol agreed to a $2.8 million deal, Garrett with $1.5 million, and Wesneski signed for $975k. It’s a trio of pitchers that are all returning from major injury.

Graterol re-upped his same salary from last season – which he missed due to surgery in November of 2024 for a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder. His career record is 11-9 with a 2.78 ERA and 11 saves. However, he’s only played in seven contests since the start of the 2024 season. Los Angeles’ decision to retain their reliever shows that they have a high level of confidence in him when healthy and a belief in his high-leverage play.

Here is the full story from Dodgers Roundtable writer Anthony Arroyo on the key bullpen deal along with several others for the club.

Over in Miami, Garrett also took an identical salary to 2025 after missing the season due to Tommy John surgery in December 0f 2024. Garrett has a 16-9 record and 4.03 ERA through five seasons with the club. Wesneski also had Tommy John surgery in May of last year. It was his first season that he was eligible for arbitration. Wesneski started six games and went 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA.
