A top prospect from the Minnesota Twins organization had a message on Thursday.

The Minnesota Twins continue to lean into their youth movement following last year's trade deadline roster overhaul, and one of their most intriguing prospects is already making noise this spring.

Left‑hander Dasan Hill, still just 20 years old, delivered an impressive performance during the organization’s Spring Breakout game on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies, flashing the kind of upside that has the Twins excited about their long‑term pitching pipeline.

Hill was dominant in his outing, tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out three batters. Even more impressive was the raw stuff he showcased, particularly a fastball that topped out at 100.1 miles per hour. For a pitcher his age, that kind of velocity paired with composure on the mound stands out immediately.

After the outing, Hill reacted to a post from the Twins player development account shouting out his performance. “Amazing experience 🫡,” he wrote on X. The brief message reflected both his excitement and appreciation for the opportunity, as well as the moment itself, one that could mark an early turning point in his development.

Selected in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Grapevine High School in Texas, Hill has quickly become one of the more talked‑about young arms in the Twins system. While he is still years away from making a big‑league impact, outings like this reinforce why the organization invested in his potential.

Hill spent his first professional season building a strong foundation, posting a 3.19 ERA across 19 starts while striking out 83 batters in 62 innings. Those numbers highlight his ability to miss bats, but it is the continued development of his command and secondary pitches that will ultimately determine how quickly he rises through the system.

The Twins are expected to continue developing Hill as a starting pitcher, a role that fits his arsenal and long‑term upside. With a fastball already reaching triple digits and the ability to generate swings and misses, he has the tools to eventually slot into a big‑league rotation if everything comes together.

For now, patience remains key. Minnesota is not expected to rush Hill, especially as the organization balances development with a broader youth movement at the major‑league level. Still, performances like this offer a glimpse of what could be ahead.

If Hill continues progressing at this pace, he will not just be a name to watch. He will be a foundational piece of the Twins future plans.
