It wouldn't be an MLB offseason if we didn't create a bunch of unrealistic mock trades.

The Minnesota Twins have made it abundantly clear that they have minimal interest in trading their best starting pitcher, Joe Ryan, but for the sake of this article, here are two landing spots for Ryan.

Ryan has been one of the most consistent pitchers in the American League for the past three seasons.

With a minimum of 250 innings pitched since the start of 2023, Ryan ranks 10th in innings pitched (467.2), 13th in wins (31), 7th in strikeouts (538), and 21st in ERA with a 3.85.

Ryan would cost a pretty penny if he were to be traded, but I believe that there are numerous teams and suitors that have enough assets to get a deal done with Minnesota.

Ryan has two more years of team control, as he is set to make $6-8 million dollars in arbitration this year.

New York Yankees acquire Ryan for prospects

The first mock trade has Ryan being traded to the New York Yankees in return for two top five prospects and a pitcher.

In return, Minnesota would be acquiring outfielder Spencer Jones (No. 4 org), right handed pitcher Bryce Cunningham (No. 5 org) and right hander Will Warren.

At only 26 years old, Warren posted a 4.44 ERA and 171 strikeouts in 162.1 innings pitched. Warren would be an extremely intriguing piece for Minnesota.

Jones and Cunningham would be the prospects going to Minnesota, and I honestly like this return for them. Jones had a fantastic 2025 season in the minors between Double and Triple-A, he hit 35 home runs along with driving in 80 runs. Jones had an extremely dominant slash line of .274/.362/.571 in 116 games last season.

This trade would make a lot of sense for New York, especially after they struck out on trading for Edward Cabrera.

The addition of Ryan would give them much needed stability in the middle of their order alongside Rodon, Cole, and Schittler.

Baltimore Orioles get their ace in Ryan

The Baltimore Orioles have been in the mix for a top of the rotation starter all offseason, and they finally get one with Joe Ryan.

Baltimore would be sending first baseman Coby Mayo, along with top five prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. (No. 4 org) and southpaw Boston Bateman (No. 9 org) to Minnesota in return for Ryan.

Mayo has a ton of upside, and with Minnesota only having veteran Josh Bell holding it down at first, Mayo would be a fantastic addition to kick start their rebuild.

Bradfield is Baltimore's number four overall prospect, and he is expected to be called up sometime during the 2026 season.

Bateman is a 6'8" lefty that Baltimore acquired in the Ryan O'Hearn/Ramon Laureano trade with San Diego at the deadline back in July.

This trade would give Minnesota much needed prospects all around the field that could help bring a new identity to this club.

Baltimore would finally get their top of the rotation starter and are viewed as World Series hopefuls.
