Colson is going to get the record

Colson Montgomery tied the single-season strikeout record on Thursday. So unless, by some miracle, he doesn't strike out a single time against the Colorado Rockies this weekend, he's going to break the record.

It doesn't seem like Kyle Schwarber will catch him, either. The Philadelphia Phillies star had more strikeouts than Colson for a majority of the year, but he'd have to have a really bad weekend to take the record from him.

Perhaps it's small and ultimately meaningless, but it's unfortunate to see how some of Montgomery's struggles have led to a spot in history that nobody wants.
