Former Chicago White Sox shortstop Paul DeJong, who played in 102 games for the White Sox in 2024 and hit 18 home runs with a .706 OPS, might be extending his MLB career.
Could be adding a 10th season now that he has signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers. I'd expect him to get an opportunity in the big leagues with the Tigers at some point. He'll make $1 million if he's on the MLB roster.
DeJong played for the Washington Nationals in 2025 and played in 57 games hitting six home runs. Good enough pop for a shortstop that it warrants giving him a chance off the bench even at 32 years old.
