People around baseball don't talk about Junior Caminero enough, probably because he's with the Tampa Bay Rays.

But as a 21-year-old in Tampa last season, Caminero hit 45 home runs. He had three home runs and an OPS of 1.259 with Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic this year. He's one of baseball's very best players, and he's still only 22 years old.

Now that Caminero is getting some more spotlight, I remembered back to a trade from 2021 when the Cleveland Guardians traded Caminero to Tampa for 23-year-old right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers.

Myers is a pretty good player, but he's no longer with the Guardians, and White Sox fans everywhere should be particularly grateful that Cleveland botched this deal.

Having to deal with Caminero and Jose Ramirez on a regular basis would be a nightmare. Thankfully, the White Sox got a superstar out of their division.
