A schedule packed with weaker opponents and struggling rivals offers the White Sox a golden opportunity to finally break their slow-start streak.

Getting off to a fast start will be key for the Chicago White Sox this season.

After a 19-win improvement from 2024 to 2025, the White Sox are hoping to have another massive win improvement from 2025 to 2026. That starts with coming into the regular season with some urgency.

Unfortunately, that has been a problem for the White Sox in recent seasons. They have not gotten off to fast starts in each of the past two years.

In 2024, the South Siders started 0-4 and then 3-22 across their first 25 games. In 2025, the White Sox went 4-16 in their first 20 games. The team has also not won more than eight games by the end of April since 2021.

So, the White Sox have to start strong in the first few weeks.

Luckily, they have some favorable matchups on their schedule in March/April. 21 of their first 31 games are against teams that finished with a record under .500 in 2025.

While teams like the Orioles and Diamondbacks are expected to be better in 2026, the White Sox have some easier matchups in the first few weeks against the Marlins (three games), Rays (three games), Athletics (three games), Nationals (three games), and Angels (three games).

The White Sox will also start the regular season against a Brewers team that will be missing some key pitchers. Freddy Peralta was traded to the New York Mets, and both Quinn Priester and Brandon Woodruff will not be ready for the start of the season.

After that opening series against the Brewers, the White Sox will travel to Miami to take on the Marlins for a three-game set. There, the team will face Miami’s No. 4 starter, No. 5 starter, and No. 1 starter.

The White Sox have the potential to have a much better March/April than usual. They have a semi-favorable schedule and should win double-digit games by the end of April for the first time since 2021.
