Donald Trump made an appearance at the New York Yankees' September 11 matchup against the Detroit Tigers. It was an emotional appearance, as it commemorated the 24th anniversary of 9/11.

When all was said and done, the Yankees were able to come away with a big 9-3 win over the Tigers.

On his trip to visit New York, Trump seemed to predict that the Yankees would win the World Series this season.

As shared by the New York Post, Trump told the players that they would "go all the way."

“You’re gonna win. You’re gonna go all the way,” Trump said

In addition to his championship prediction for New York, Trump also took a moment to speak to superstar outfielder Aaron Judge. He is clearly a big fan of the Yankees superstar.

“You have that much muscle, you have to hit the ball perfect,” he said “You’re a fantastic player. … You’re an unbelievable player.”

At this point in time, New York holds an 81-65 record. The Yankees have had an up-and-down season, but they do appear headed for the postseason and are currently at the top of the American League Wild Card race and are just three games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East division race.

Throughout the course of the 2025 MLB season, New York has looked like two different teams. In some moments, the Yankees have looked the part of a World Series contender. Other times have shown major issues that could cause their undoing in the postseason.

With the regular season winding down quickly, New York will need to figure out some of those issues.

Making a run to the World Series will be no easy task. The Yankees will have to go through the Blue Jays, Tigers, and other talented teams across the American League.

Should they make a run to the World Series, there are a few elite teams in the National League they could face. Those teams include the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the 2025 MLB season has in store for New York. Trump has now made his prediction clear. Now, it's up to the Yankees to make that prediction become a reality.
