The ace is arguably the best in the sport.

What New York Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler has done over the past two seasons is flat-out ridiculous.

There's a strong argument that Schlittler is among the best starters in Major League Baseball, and you could even say he's the best when he's at the top of his game.

Schlittler has dominated hitters at a ridiculously high level and will look to continue doing so through the rest of October.

He had an opportunity to pitch against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, after completely dominating the Boston Red Sox in game one of the Wild Card series.

At the time of writing this, he’s thrown 3.0 innings of one run baseball. The run was unearned.

Schlittler is also very good at being the bad guy. He's said many times now that he doesn't mind pitching on the road and actually loves being booed.

However, his recent comments show how much of a psycho he is and why every Yankees fan absolutely loves him. This is a guy who you want on the mound every single day, especially in action-packed moments.

“I prefer to be booed,” Schlittler said earlier this season. “It’s fun. It gets more intense. … I feed off of that.”

“I don’t know why the splits are the way they were,” Schlittler said Saturday, before the Yankees dropped Game 1, 1-0, at a ballpark that turned into an advantage for the home team. “But at the same time, I feel like I pitched really good at home in the back end. On the road, I feel like, again, going into an away crowd and silencing that is a great feeling.”

A lot of the comments out there have come after he dominated the Red Sox, something he's done throughout a lot of his career. He's also proven that he doesn't mind going back and forth with Red Sox fans who want to say things about him on social media.

No matter how much he shoves against the Red Sox, Schlittler has been great against many others and will have the chance to keep it up through the rest of October.
