Yankees Might Have to Move on From Giancarlo Stanton for Aaron Judge Reason

It's very unfortunate that New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton continues to deal with the injuries he's had throughout his career.

There's a strong argument to be made that if Stanton had been healthy throughout most of his career, we'd be looking at one of the most decorated power showings in Major League Baseball history.

Obviously, that hasn't been the case, and as a result, some have questioned what his future in baseball even looks like because of these injuries.

The injuries have been such an issue that one could even argue that it would make sense for the Yankees to cut ties with him. It's unfortunate, but it's true. Stanton hasn't stayed healthy enough for the Yankees to keep him long-term.

According to the latest from The Athletic, it's being viewed as a possibility, and there are other reasons why. One of those could even be Jasson Domínguez and Aaron Judge.

“Judge will also likely require more DH days when he returns from his fractured rib injury in the coming weeks. The Yankees should figure out ways to minimize some of the injury risk for Judge while he plays the outfield. They cannot afford to have the best hitter of his generation unavailable because of freak injuries. Then there’s Jasson Domínguez — if the Yankees believe in the 23-year-old’s future; he, too, is trending toward being a designated hitter,” Chris Kirschner wrote.

With Aaron Judge only getting older and also dealing with some injuries himself, though obviously nothing compared to what Stanton has gone through, it's not crazy to say that New York has to give him an opportunity to come back and just be fully healthy without worrying whether he needs to play the field every single day.

Judge is an above-average defender, and he gives the Yankees the most value when he's out there in the outfield, but the biggest priority is keeping him healthy so he can stay in the lineup. Unfortunately, with all of the problems that Stanton has gone through, he's been the designated hitter when healthy.

The Yankees can't really guarantee he's going to have that spot any longer, so it might be best to cut ties with him this offseason and go from there.
