New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler has fired some shots at the Boston Red Sox.

The last time Cam Schlittler saw the Boston Red Sox, he was pitching eight shutout innings against them in Game 3 of the 2025 Wild Card Series, helping the New York Yankees advance to the ALDS.

It was a historic performance for Schlittler, who struck out 12 batters without issuing a single walk. And with that showing, he instantly became a fan favorite.

Now, the 24-year-old is preparing to face the Red Sox — his childhood favorite team — at Fenway Park for the first time in his career on Tuesday night, and he will do so among death threats.

But Schlittler doesn't seem fazed by it. In fact, he is relishing it.

“(You’d) think after last time, how much they were talking before, that they might be trying to quiet it down a little bit," Schlitter said, via Brendan Kuty of The Athletic.

Schlittler engaged in a war of words with Boston fans on social media last October, and he ended up winning that battle.

Since then, the right-hander has become public enemy No. 1 in Beantown, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

“I don’t expect to get a friendly welcome, which I’m planning on,” he said. “It’s going to be a great atmosphere.”

Schlittler had made just 14 big-league starts before staring down the Red Sox in the playoffs last fall. Now, he is a bit more established.

The Massachusetts native has pitched to the tune of a 1.95 ERA over his first five starts in 2026, allowing 18 hits while racking up 36 strikeouts across 27.2 innings.

What's more, Schlittler owns a microscopic 0.85 FIP (the best in the majors), and he has yet to surrender a home run this season. To put the cherry on top, the flamethrower boasts a ridiculous 12.00 K/BB ratio.

After basically explaining how much he enjoys the back-and-forth with the Fenway faithful, Schlittler fired one more shot at Red Sox fans.

“I don’t really expect a different result on my end or on our team’s end,” he said.

Is that a guarantee?

One thing is for sure: Schlittler is proving more and more every day that he is built for the bright lights of New York, and the Yankees should be very thankful they have him.

We'll see if Schlittler is able to silence Boston again this week.
