However, the crew did redeem themselves near the end. That puts him in Chase contention for the first time since finishing second at EchoPark Speedway Atlanta in late February. With 110 laps to go, crew chief Chris Lawson put two fresh tires on his No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford to put him fourth for the restart. Poor long-run speed sunk him back to eighth at the end of stage two. Then, his pit crew got him up to fourth to start the final stage before he sunk again.
