To avoid conflicts with the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500 will move off of the traditional President's Day weekend spot
Daytona International Speedway announced today that the 69th running of the DAYTONA 500 will take place on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2027.
“We have fans from all 50 states and dozens of countries who look forward to kicking off the NASCAR season with us at The World Center of Racing, and we know many of them make their travel and lodging plans well in advance for the trip,” said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway. “As the 2027 date shifts to Feb. 21, we wanted to give our amazing and loyal fans plenty of opportunity to prepare to be in Daytona Beach for the excitement The Great American Race provides each year.”
The best way for fans to ensure they get tickets for the 2027 race is to lock in their seats for 2026. Fans who attend in 2026 will have exclusive pre-sale access for 2027.
Earlier this year, William Byron became the youngest multi-time DAYTONA 500 champion – bettering NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon on the list – as he won a historic second consecutive Great American Race. Only the fifth driver to win back-to-back DAYTONA 500 championships, he also handed Hendrick Motorsports a record-setting 10th DAYTONA 500 victory.
Following the 10th consecutive sellout of the Great American Race this past February, the 2026 edition of the DAYTONA 500 will take place January 15, 2026. Tickets are going fast but are still available at www.DAYTONA.com.
The 2026 edition of Speedweeks Presented by AdventHealth will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 11 with DAYTONA 500 Qualifying presented by Busch Light, setting the front row for The Great American Race. Qualifying also sets the field for a pair of head-to-head battles in the Duel At DAYTONA on Thursday, Feb. 12, where drivers fight for their starting position in the 68th running of the DAYTONA 500.
The intensity increases on Friday, Feb. 13 as the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season-opener takes the green flag under the lights of the famed track. Then on Saturday, Feb. 14, fans can enjoy a jam-packed day of on-track action with the kickoff to the ARCA Menards Series season and the season-opening NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race.
Then on Sunday, drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series will fire up their engines and get the 2026 season underway in the DAYTONA 500.
