Welcome to the green flag at Roundtable Sports, where we’re delivering full-throttle NASCAR coverage.
Tyler Jones here with you—your fearless leader through every turn. The past few weeks have been quiet on the surface, but I’ve been building the ride of a lifetime.
This is the most electric chapter of my career: living on my terms, chasing stories, answering to no one. No brakes, no apologies.
My promise to you remains unchanged—to entertain and inform. Every day at Roundtable, we’ll hand you the essentials in a way that keeps you grinning.
NASCAR isn’t a job—it’s oxygen. Hooked since 2004, I grew up bleeding Jeff Gordon’s rainbow colors (sorry, Earnhardt nation—raise hell, praise Dale).
First live race: Texas Motor Speedway, 2012. Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski dueling for the Cup title. My little sister prayed for Johnson to win that day—of course he did; Keselowski got the last laugh though, taking home the championship.
By 2014, I was trackside as a college student, covering every race at my home track, Kansas Speedway. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine “The King” Richard Petty pulling me aside during a 2015 downpour—my second event there—to warn, “Don’t get too wet out there.”
The sport turned me into a road warrior—Talladega Boulevard chaos, Daytona Beach nights, stories for another day. I’ve seen some things, literally.
New here? That’s okay. Quick pit stop: Broken Arrow, OK native. Attended the University of Kansas. Morning radio host on KLWN in Lawrence, KS. Helped launch Gray Television’s Local News Live in Omaha, NE as one of their inaugural national news anchors/producers. Last three years in Dallas, TX at Chat Sports, dissecting the NFL and College Football.
Podcasting’s my second engine. I’ve hosted The Jones Report since 15—zero seriousness, all sports, alongside Roundtable Sports Oklahoma State editor Thomas Bridges. Since 2020, I’ve co-hosted Let’s Go Racing with Mr. Whataburger himself, David Starr. I’m typically not a ketchup fan, but Whataburger’s spicy ketchup has grown on me. Heck, I don’t even like spicy food, but clearly Whataburger is doing something right.
Front-row credentials: multiple Daytona 500s, NASCAR Championships, the NFL Playoffs, the College Football Playoff, the Final Four, the PGA Championship, and many more. History on repeat.
My mentor Tim Brando drills it home: “The journey is the best part.” Strap in—I’m honored to have you aboard.
Keep the revs high with me on X, Instagram, and Facebook @TylerJonesLive.
