JOLIET, Ill., – Today, NASCAR announced that Jacqueline “Jacque” Herrera has been named General Manager of Chicagoland Speedway, leading strategic operations, community engagement, and business development for one of the Midwest’s premier sporting venues. A fixture in the Chicagoland and Northern Illinois community with more than 15 years of experience in community relations and public affairs, Herrera brings a proven track record of building meaningful partnerships that drive impact for organizations and the communities they serve.

Since joining NASCAR in 2023, Herrera has served as Director of Community Relations for the Chicago Street Race, where she led community initiatives for the first-ever street race in NASCAR Cup Series history. In her role, Herrera oversaw all community-facing programs for the marquee event, advancing NASCAR’s social mission through workforce development, youth engagement, and small business inclusion initiatives.

“Jacque’s leadership, community ties, and ability to forge authentic partnerships have made her an invaluable part of NASCAR’s growing presence in the region,” said Pat Warren, Vice President of Midwest Region, NASCAR. “Her commitment to collaboration and innovation will be essential as Chicagoland Speedway prepares to host its first NASCAR Cup Series action in seven years next summer.”

Prior to joining NASCAR, Herrera held senior roles in healthcare and public affairs, as Director of Community Engagement at Tapestry 360 Health and Director of External Affairs and Communications at Humboldt Park Health, where she led cross-functional teams in government relations, marketing, and community programs.

A proud Chicagoan and mother of two, Herrera earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Michigan State University. She has been recognized as one of Negocios Now’s “Latinos 40 Under 40” and “Who’s Who Chicago Hispanic Power: Latinos Fighting COVID-19,” and has served on boards and advisory committees for the Chicago Loop Alliance, University of Illinois Cancer Center, Casa Central, and the Alliance for Health Equity.

Chicagoland Speedway, which opened in 2001 and hosted NASCAR’s premier series for 18 seasons, last held NASCAR competition at the track in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of all racing activity across the country. Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, recorded his first career win in the 2019 Camping World 400 in Joliet. In 2022, NASCAR introduced the Next Gen Cup Series car, which quickly raised the intensity of competition at 1.5-mile oval tracks like Chicagoland Speedway.
