The full injury report for Thursday's game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets.
The Philadelphia 76ers (23-19) are facing off against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets (26-15) on Thursday evening.
Philadelphia has lost three of its last four games, with defeats coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns. Meanwhile, Houston has won three straight matchups, emerging victorious over the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, and San Antonio Spurs.
The Sixers were forced to face the Suns shorthanded on Tuesday, but it appears a key contributor should be back in the rotation. Here is the full injury report for 76ers-Rockets:
ROCKETS
Steven Adams: Out - Left Ankle; Sprain
Aaron Holiday: Questionable - Back; Spasms
Tristen Newton: Out - G League - Two-Way
Fred VanVleet: Out - Right Knee; ACL Repair
76ERS
MarJon Beauchamp: Doubtful - G League - Two-Way
Johni Broome: Doubtful - G League - On Assignment
Joel Embiid: Probable - Right Ankle; Injury Management
Paul George: Questionable - Left Knee; Injury Management
Kelly Oubre Jr.: Available - Left Knee; Injury Recovery - Brace
Adams' absence is a significant loss for the Rockets, as he has appeared in 32 games and started 11. He is averaging 5.8 points and 8.6 rebounds on 50.4% shooting. With Embiid listed as probable, Houston's starting center, Alperen Sengun, will face a much taller defensive task.
Embiid was sidelined for Tuesday's game against Phoenix, but is likely back in the mix tonight. This is a major positive for the Sixers, as Embiid is seemingly improving with each game he plays in. He is recording 24.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game on 47.7% shooting in 23 games played this season. Some are even arguing his case to be an All-Star reserve.
George remains questionable after missing the loss against Phoenix, which means the pressure will largely fall on Maxey and Embiid to carry the load. Although it's worth noting V.J. Edgecombe and Kelly Oubre Jr. tallied more than 20 points versus the Suns.
Regardless of if Embiid and George suit up, it will be a tough matchup for the Sixers in Philadelphia.
