Joel Embiid Leads the Way As 76ers Hold Off Suns on Saturday Night cover image

The game recap for Saturday's Philadelphia 76ers-Phoenix Suns game.

The Philadelphia 76ers (30-22) took down Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns (31-22) on Saturday evening with a final score of 109-103.

This game puts the 76ers back in the win column after falling short to Austin Reaves and the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 5, as they have won six of their last seven contests. Meanwhile, the Suns have fallen short in three of their last four matchups.

Joel Embiid was once again the star of the show for Philadelphia, finishing the night with 33 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a block on 47.4% shooting and 4 of 7 shooting from three-point range in 33 minutes of action.

Over his last seven games, the 31-year-old big man is averaging 33.7 points and 8.1 rebounds on impressive efficiency splits. He also has the highest points per game (29.9) by a center in 2026, ahead of Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic (24.6) and San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama (23.5).

Tyrese Maxey also played quite well against the Suns, but his efficiency was lackluster. He tallied 29 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and a steal on 38.1% shooting and 3 of 10 shooting from three-point range in 40 minutes. Inefficient shooting from the arc is seemingly becoming a trend for the two-time All-Star in recent weeks.

Kelly Oubre Jr. continues to prove why the front office made the right decision by holding onto him past the NBA trade deadline. With Paul George sidelined for an extended period of time due to his suspension, Oubre's scoring services are more needed than ever. He delivered versus Phoenix, recording 18 points and six rebounds on 42.9% shooting.

Guards V.J. Edgecombe and Quentin Grimes had rather quiet nights, combining for 11 points and 10 rebounds on 4 of 8 shooting.

76ers coach Nick Nurse decided not to split the backup center minutes between Adem Bona and Andre Drummond, but instead, only the former played.

For the Suns, star forward Dillon Brooks finished as the leading scorer with 28 points. Phoenix's No. 1 option, Devin Booker, concluded the evening with 21 points and nine assists.
