The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 6 on Thursday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers (3-3) refuse to be eliminated, as they took down the Boston Celtics (3-3) in Game 6 on Thursday night, 106-93.

Game 7 will be played in Boston on Saturday.

In the opening quarter, 76ers center Joel Embiid came out firing but was struggling to get going from both the midrange and the arc. Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was contributing in all facets, including nine rebounds. Although the Sixers trailed 23-20 at the end of the quarter, it was obvious Sixers All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey and the rest of the roster were locked in on both ends of the floor.

The second quarter saw solid minutes from forward Justin Edwards, who despite playing a minimal amount this series, looked comfortable on both ends. Boston's third-string center, Luka Garza, got some time but could not contain Embiid defensively. Maxey had an impressive 13-point frame while Philadelphia star Paul George contributed eight points.

The third quarter, to put it simply, was electric for Philadelphia. The 76ers extended their lead to 19 points behind impressive shot-making from George, strong two-way play from backup center Andre Drummond, and lockdown defense from everyone on the floor.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla threw in the towel with roughly 10 minutes remaining in the matchup, as Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the rest of the starters were on the bench.

The star of the show in this victory for Philadelphia was George, who finished with 23 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals on 47.1% shooting and 5 of 9 shooting from three-point range in 40 minutes of action. What made George so valuable in this victory is he not only found a rhythm offensively but played lockdown defense from start to finish.

Maxey and Embiid also had spectacular outings, with the former recording 30 points, five assists, and two steals on 50% shooting. The latter concluded with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists on inefficient shooting splits.

For the Celtics, it was Brown who ended as their leading scorer with 18 points on 7 of 17 shooting. Tatum, meanwhile, tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds on 46.2% shooting.

To say the least, Game 7 should be a very exciting watch.
