The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Chicago Bulls after an exciting victory against the Hornets.
The Philadelphia 76ers are riding high on their two-game winning streak, and now they look to continue their winning ways against the Chicago Bulls.
Thai could be another night that sees Tyrese Maxey control the pace of this team. Now. LeBron James will return from injury and will be available, but Embiid is a different story. While it is possible that Embiid won’t play, he truly won’t be needed. The Bulls have a glaring weakness that benefits the 76ers' strength and scoring.
The Bulls have been horrid when it comes to shooting the ball. Chicago ranks dead last in three-point percentage at 28 percent and is second to last in field goal percentage at 41 percent as a team. Meanwhile, the 76ers, well, they aren't that much better ranked, fourth worst in field goal percentage and 20th in three-point percentage. The biggest difference here is the star power.
Due to the 76ers having players like James and Maxey at their disposal, a game like this is right in their wheelhouse. However, no Embiid could mean early struggles in the rebound department. But at this point, won’t it be a struggle in that department? That’s where the team will have to collectively step it up. The good thing here is that the Bulls give up nearly 11 offensive rebounds a game.
The other phase of the game that favors Philadelphia in this matchup is their defense. Being in the top five defensively means that they can stranglehold the best of them. The Bulls have been notorious for turning the ball over this season. In their last two games, they have turned the ball over 28 times. A smothering defense like the 76ers is going to be licking their chops at the chance to take on this Bulls team.
With the lack of spacing and shooting the Bulls possess, this could be a game the 76ers finally ruin away with. This could be a game that allows Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe to find their shooting. Edgecombe will look to build off his shooting as he hit the dagger three against the Charlotte Hornets. For Brown, he has to find himself on this team. He’s forced himself into some very difficult shots that leave you scratching your head.
The 76ers are growing as a team each and every game they play. Even if the Bulls are 1-5, they must not take them lightly and do what they can to score early and often to put this game to rest.
