The Philadelphia could look to sign free agent guard Collin Sexton to replace Quentin Grimes, who is likely to leave the organization.

Numerous reports are suggesting free agent guard Quentin Grimes will not return to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Los Angeles Lakers are being cited as Grimes' most likely suitor.
This decision by Grimes to likely depart from Philadelphia leaves the 76ers with a major void to fill, as they only have three guards under contract: Tyrese Maxey, V.J. Edgecombe, and Labaron Philon Jr.
While these are three uber-talented backcourt players, depth could become an issue if the Sixers don't add another piece to the mix. One name linked to the 76ers as a potential Grimes replacement is free agent guard and eight-year NBA veteran Collin Sexton.
Sexton would be a phenomenal addition to Philadelphia's roster.
The 27-year-old split the 2025-2026 campaign between the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls, averaging 15.4 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals on 48.5% shooting and 40.1% shooting from three-point range in 68 games.
Offensively, his numbers spiked when he was traded to the Bulls, as he recorded 17.5 points per game over a 26-game stretch in Chicago. In Philadelphia, it's probable to assume his scoring average would decrease given the lesser role he'd be playing in behind Maxey and Edgecombe.
However, replicating Grimes' average of 13.4 points is entirely within the realm of possibilities.
On defense, Sexton may not be an All-Defensive-caliber guard, but he is a pest and high-energy player. Size could become an issue for the 76ers' backcourt if Sexton is brought in, as the tallest player among the group would be Edgecombe, who stands 6-foot-4.
Sexton undoubtedly fits with the 76ers' high-pace style of play while simultaneously being able to knock down shots from the outside when the offense is running through Joel Embiid.
If Philadelphia can bring him in at a reasonable cost, the front office should absolutely do so.
