The Philadelphia 76ers are all-in on attempting to get free agent LeBron James to sign with the team.
The Philadelphia 76ers' newest star is doing his part in attempting to bring free agent LeBron James to the team.
Jaylen Brown, who was acquired by the 76ers from the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster trade, was at a World Cup match on Thursday with famous streamer IShowSpeed.
On stream, the conversation between Brown and Speed went as follows:
Brown: "You gotta tell LeBron he gotta pull up, man. Pull up to Philly."
IShowSpeed: “LeBron, pull up to Philly. Think about it. LeBron, Jaylen Brown, PG13."
Jaylen Brown: "He’s gone. He’s gone, bro."
Speed is clearly not the closest follower of the NBA but still attempted to do his part in recruiting James to Philadelphia.
Brown is one of a handful of members of the 76ers' organization publicly pitching to the 22-time All-Star. Executive Bob Myers and President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey have made recruitment proposals to the four-time NBA champion.
It's clear the 76ers are all-in on James with their final roster spot.
This is the right strategy by Philadelphia, as the 41-year-old would further elevate the 76ers' roster, which is already highlighted by four All-Star-caliber players in Tyrese Maxey, V.J. Edgecombe, Brown, and Joel Embiid.
James is still a high-level athlete and player, as he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds on 51.5% shooting in 60 games last season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
There is plenty of appeal for James to desire Philadelphia as his final NBA destination. The basketball fit, the chances of winning a fifth championship, the connection to Maxey and Gansey, and more.
However, the decision for James could be determined by more than just those factors. The reality is James may desire a "storybook" ending with the Cleveland Cavaliers or a return to the Miami Heat more.
Still, the 76ers are doing everything in their power to convince him Philadelphia is the best landing spot for him to finish out his illustrious career.
