Analysts and fans are beginning to grow impatient with Philadelphia 76ers president Daryl Morey.
Daryl Morey was hired as the Philadelphia 76ers' President of Basketball Operations in late 2020, but his time in this role may be coming to an end.
The 76ers are the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, as they appear headed toward another early playoff exit. If this is the outcome of their season, radio analyst Jon Marks believes Morey will be out of a job this summer.
"I don't think Daryl Morey is gonna be back because even if they make the playoffs, let's say they even win a round," Marks began on 97.5 The Fanatic. "Bob Myers was hired, he leaves Golden State Warriors. He built the franchise, the run that they went on, the championships, and everything else, and he was with ESPN, and now he gets hired as overseer of everything within all of Josh Harris' properties, but there's no way that he wasn't hired with an eye toward the 76ers, and I'm sure Daryl Morey felt the same way."
Two of Morey's biggest moves in recent years are signing Paul George and extending Joel Embiid.
Neither of these decisions has turned out well thus far, as the former is earning more than $51 million this season while the latter starts a three-year, $188 million contract extension next season.

It feels like to me that it's a time for a change at who's constructing this roster and really what you're going to do going forward... But I think desperately right now more than anything with the 76ers, a new eye and a new voice needs to come from above."
Fans backed up Marks' take on the situation, responding to the social media post with remarks of agreement:
@DavidBPublic: "I'd say that it's long past time. I'd also love to see a change in ownership."
@toomias85: "It’s been time for 3 years"
@GeorgeJ89424209: "Way way overdue!!!"
Time will tell if ownership decides to move on from Morey.
