Bronny is going into his third year in the NBA and it would be the first without his father. There may be a way for LeBron to have his son with him again in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia 76ers have created an NBA 2K-like roster with the additions of champion forwards LeBron James and Jaylen Brown.
But what if there was a chance they added another James to the roster?
There has been a proposed trade that would allow for the 76ers to acquire Bronny James. This three-team trade would see James go to the 76ers. The Los Angeles Lakers would receive Kris Dunn and a 2031 2nd round pick, and the Los Angeles Clippers would receive Dalton Knecht and Jaden Hardy.
While it is a hypothetical, what would it mean for this trade to go through? Well, it just means James gets to have another year under his dad’s tutelage. The only thing that should be different is that he should continue to develop his game with the team’s G-league, Delaware Blue Coats. When he played for the Lakers G-league, the South Bay Lakers, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He scored a career-high 31 points for the team that led to people singing his praises. It shows that he does have the ability to score if put into the right situation.
Now, just because he can score in the G-League doesn’t mean he could do the same in an NBA game. This isn’t to say he can’t play at the highest level, but his game just isn’t there yet. However, if he were to stay in the big leagues, it could truly help out the team if they needed to go to another scorer.
James has a better shooting touch than his old man. He scored 17 points against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 20, 2025. His ability to shoot the deep ball could make him a threat.
It could also add another ballhandler for the team. It’s safe to say the team still doesn’t know what they’re going to do with their rotation at point guard. While it’s a stretch to say he’ll be with the second string, he could get some playtime, especially when they get to those garbage minutes.
It would truly be a work in progress, as his NBA journey leaves much to be desired, but there’s still hope. The trade may not happen, but you should never say never. If Bronny is able to end up with Philadelphia, it would be a heartwarming moment for father and son if they manage to go all the way and win an NBA Championship.
