Jared McCain doesn't hold back after speaking about the trade that sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Jared McCain deal remains one of the more baffling trades by the Philadelphia 76ers' organization.

The 76ers shocked many fans when they traded the second-year guard to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a move that remains highly controversial among the fan base.

McCain, who is currently coming off the bench for the reigning NBA champions, has recently spoken up about the trade in an interview with CBS Sports.

"I'm right there with the fans. I was scared… It was hard to process. So I’m forever still grateful for Philly… you don’t get to say goodbye. It’s really like a breakup," He told CBS Sports.

He goes on to describe how sudden and emotional the moment was when he received the call informing him about the trade.

"They call you and it's just so, like, cold, almost," McCain said. "It's like, damn. They drafted me. It just feels like it just ended so quickly. The call that you get traded is, like, 'Hey, we just traded you,' and that's kind of it. So it's really, it's almost sad. It's really sad. It really is sad. Like, I'm an emotional person. I really, like, I love all those people over there, like the staff, like the medical staff, the coaching staff. The teammates, like, those are like my brothers. I really looked up to a lot of 'em and hung out with all of 'em. It's sad that you don't see 'em every day."

McCain has played a total of 12 games with the Thunder, tallying 20 points twice this season. He is averaging 11.9 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field, 41 percent from three, and 90 percent from the free throw line.

McCain goes on to say that he was completely blindsided by the trade while at the same time extremely grateful to have landed in OKC.

The young guard spent the majority of his second season with the 76ers after returning from the torn meniscus injury that forced him to sit out most of his rookie season.

Despite the setback, McCain said he never felt that his struggles in Philadelphia were anyone's fault.
