Jason Kidd sounds off on the NBA's best offseason. Philadelphia caught his eye as one of the best.
The NBA has always been a place that makes young players dreams come true. Every offseason teams look to improve and this year was no different. The Philadelphia 76ers had one of the best offseasons in recent memory. The resurgence of the 76ers has been something many have been waiting for, and it finally happened.
A former NBA champion believes this season was one many won’t soon forget. Jason Kidd, former player and head coach, believes the 76ers have done wonders with the additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. Kidd sat down with All-Star Magazine to elaborate on this.
“They could be the best team in the East, and that’s just him at 42. So it’s a testament to him,” Kidd said. “Credit to Philly because I do think they have one a young backcourt that’s very exciting to watch.”
Kidd may be right, this team could be the best in the East. For him to shout out the young players just goes to show what he thinks this team is capable of. The youth in this team will be the driving force for what they are trying to accomplish.
Kidd knows a thing or two about winning. This was a former player that James could surpass on the all-time assists list. Furthermore, Kidd was apart of the Dallas Mavericks team that beat James’ Miami Heat in 2011. Even though he has turned to coaching he has seen James’ growth and believes his prowess as a player will guide this team to a possible championship.
Kidd knows what we all do, it’s truly nothing that can stop this team for getting where they need to go. James at the point is something many could have thought but didn’t believe it would happen. The offense on this team is something we may never see again.
It’s not going to be about scoring for this team. It’ll be about how they manage each other and keep everybody grounded mentally. It’s a long season and you never know what you’re going to expect. Injuries could pop up at the drop of a dime.
There's also the idea of their adversaries. New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Boston Celtics just to name a few. Any of these teams have the capability to take out Philadelphia. However, the depth will be key and that’s why the assembling of them was genius as it gave the team flexibility.
Jason Kidd knows what’s in store for the NBA, and it may be something that causes a myriad of emotions for fans and players alike.
