Entering his 24th season, it's going to be interesting to see how LeBron James holds up. Not only that, but what can we expect of him at this age?

Going into his 24th season, LeBron James is defying Father Time every step of the way. That leaves many to wonder what the new Philadelphia 76er is going to look like with his new team.

While it has been widely reported that James is going to be taking over the role of point guard, it stands to be wondered if he can still dip into that fountain of youth when necessary. This season is going to really test how healthy James will be. His role is going to be that of Earvin “Magic” Johnson.  For those who don’t know, Johnson was a flashy, effective point guard who dished out assists like it was going out of business. He made sure to feed everyone around him before scoring himself.

That’s going to be the idea with James in Philadelphia. He’ll have plenty of talent around him to do just that. Vj Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey will all be huge beneficiaries with James running the floor. Joel Embiid is one of the few that may not necessarily need James to get himself going. Everyone is asking, what will the team be like with all these stars? Nobody is asking what James will do with having to deal with all these stars.

All things take time, so it won’t be perfect overnight. But, when James gets everyone involved, he too will be able to get easy baskets because nobody will know who to focus on. James may have his lowest point total in years, but it comes with great benefits. You see, even when he led the NBA in assists in 2019, he still didn’t have this kind of help. Now we get to see what all those years of carrying a team have done for James’ knowing he won’t have to do it now.

This team will be free-flowing; everyone will be moving in motion as if it were poetry. Defensively, look to see a more composed, aggressive team. James may have lost a step on the defensive side, but he’s still a six-time all-defensive player. That should stand for something. Brown, James, Embiid, and even Edgecombe have the capabilities to stand their ground defensively.

This team will have resemblances to the Gregg Popovich Spurs, a team that makes the extra pass. It will be all about the fundamentals and making the right read. Everyone has their role to play, and with James at the helm, it will be an astounding game to watch.
