A Bleacher Report analyst is using the word "scary" to describe the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the postseason.
The Philadelphia 76ers are finally healthy.
Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George are sharing the floor together for the first time in months, and the product looks quite good. Although the 76ers fell to the Miami Heat on Monday, each member of the 'Big Three' performed at a high level.
Not only is their star trio healthy, but the supporting cast, led by V.J. Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Quentin Grimes, appears ready to play its role as well.
Because of these factors, Bleacher Report analyst Zach Buckley described the 76ers as "scary" ahead of the NBA playoffs.
"The Sixers look truly terrifying—both for their own fans, who might understandably have trouble believing this group will stay healthy, and for potential playoff opponents, who have to deal with the real possibility of facing off against Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Paul George," B/R's Zach Buckley wrote.
The 76ers have a wide array of possible postseason opponents, ranging from the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons all the way down to the No. 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers. Regardless of who they face, a healthy Philadelphia squad can strike fear into that foe. Although it's worth mentioning, they match up significantly better against the New York Knicks and Cavaliers rather than the Pistons or Boston Celtics.
The reality is it's tough to match the amount of talent the 76ers have. However, the question remains: can the team stay healthy for a deep postseason run?
Only time will answer that important question.
Buckley continued, "It isn't often that a team with a .554 winning percentage merits mention in championship talks, but how can anyone say for certain that Philly's ceiling doesn't stretch that high? When the Sixers have had that star-studded trio on the floor, they've posted a 118.3 offensive rating and 111.2 defensive rating. For context, both ratings would hold top-five rankings on the season."
The 76ers will look to bounce back from their loss to the Heat on Wednesday night against the tanking Washington Wizards.
