NBA fans were happy for Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey on Tuesday, as he received major news regarding his partnership with New Balance.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is having the best season of his NBA career.
It's clear the fans, players, and media recognize this, as Monday it was announced that Maxey will be a starter in the All-Star Game. It's the consensus that this nomination was deserved, as he is averaging 30.2 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds on 47.5% shooting and 40% shooting from three-point range in 39 appearances. He is joined in the Eastern Conference by Jalen Brunson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, and Jaylen Brown.
Just a day later, and even more positive news regarding Maxey was announced.
Tyrese Maxey To Get His Own Signature Shoe
On Tuesday morning, ESPN's Shams Charania revealed that "Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey is receiving his first signature shoe with New Balance debuting later in 2026, both sides tell ESPN. Maxey signed a new deal with the company that included a signature line."
Maxey is one of many notable NBA players signed to New Balance, along with Kawhi Leonard, Cooper Flagg, Darius Garland, and more. Leonard is the only one to currently have a signature shoe line.
The NBA community was ecstatic for Maxey when this was announced, reacting with all sorts of praise for the two-time All-Star guard.
@slimvnsn: "Tyrese Maxey getting a signature shoe with New Balance is huge. It’s not just a deal; it’s a coronation. The league’s next superstar guard is officially here. Big moment."
@ShoaibAli246758: "Congrats Tyrese! Deserved after that breakout. Can't wait for the drop!"
@NicThomasNBA: "Tyrese is super marketable. The kids are going to love this."
Maxey has been the driving force behind the Sixers' success this season. With Joel Embiid continuing to struggle with injuries and Paul George's obvious regression, all eyes were on Maxey to begin the season. He did not disappoint, as his name was almost immediately tossed into MVP conversations, where it remains halfway through the regular season.
His impact off the floor has been arguably just as important, with players like V.J. Edgecombe praising his leadership.
Philadelphia is by no means a tier one contender even in the wide open Eastern Conference, as it is the No. 5 seed with a record of 23-18. However, with Embiid improving by the day, a few trade deadline moves could be all it takes to make a deep postseason run possible.
The 76ers are taking on Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns Tuesday evening, where Maxey will look to continue proving why he's worthy of a signature shoe and being an All-Star starter.
