The Philadelphia 76ers will have an opportunity to add to their young core this offseason.
This is because of the trade that sent Jared McCain to the Oklahoma City Thunder, as part of Philadelphia's return package was the Houston Rockets' 2026 first-round pick. The Rockets are the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference at the All-Star break, so this selection projects to be in the mid-20s.
Given how deep the 2026 NBA Draft is speculated to be, the 76ers could certainly find a solid player at their selection if they decide to use it. ClutchPoints' latest mock draft predicts the 76ers will select Alabama freshman forward Amari Allen with the No. 24 pick.
"Amari Allen is a role player for Alabama. His low usage skill set could pan well to an NBA team that already has superstars that need touches," ClutchPoints' Bailey Bassett wrote. "Allen knocks down jump shots, and he even has some playmaking chops. He seems like the perfect fit for the Philadelphia 76ers."
Allen is a 6-foot-8, 205-pound wing who is averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals on 45.8% shooting and 37.6% shooting from three-point range in 22 games played.
Allen's biggest strength is his versatility, as he contributes for the Crimson Tide on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he is a three-level scorer with a natural feel for his outside shot and a strong ability to finish through contact at the rim.
On the defensive end, Allen contributes through his motor, size, and agility.
76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is set to hit free agency this offseason, so Allen could step into quite a big role if the 30-year-old decides to go elsewhere. If Allen does end up in Philadelphia, he'll have the chance to learn under one of the best forwards of the 2010s in Paul George.
