With all the new stars in Philadelphia, many are questioning can it work? Tyrese Maxey silences any doubters who feel this team has too much.

Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey has been a hot topic among fans lately.

The two-time All-Star has made his rounds on various podcasts discussing his new teammates and what that could mean for himself and the franchise.

While on the Numbers On The Board podcast, Maxey was asked how he will handle his new role with all these stars and what that could mean for him. Maxey detailed that this isn’t his first rodeo playing with other stars. In fact, since he was drafted by Philadelphia, he has always had a superstar on the team.

Now after finally coming into his own, he may have to take a backseat in order to feed some very proficient stars on the team, and he’s okay with that. To Maxey, it’s not about his individual stats; it’s about the team and how he can help them win. The selflessness about the entire team is going to make the chemistry that much better when they all share the court.

“As far as sacrificing stuff, man, look, I want to win. I have played with a lot of different people in a lot of different roles. So at the end of the day. I am going to have to change some things," Maxey said.

A new role for Maxey isn’t what they're making it out to be. In previous years, Maxey was the starting point guard, meaning that the ball was in his hands on every possession. This year he won’t have to be the only one bringing the ball up the floor. Now, that responsibility falls on superstar LeBron James. That could be the biggest benefit for Maxey.

Now he gets to move freely off the ball. It changes his role for the better, as he can now play his style of play. You see, Maxey isn’t your traditional point guard; he’s a scoring guard. Here’s a player whose best asset is his ability to put defenders on their heels and get to the basketball in every way possible.

So what kind of sacrifice is Maxey making? It surely won’t be in the scoring department. If anything, his shooting numbers would go up due to spacing. But you can’t call something a sacrifice if it makes you and everyone around you better. Many continue to forget that this is a team sport and the only goal is to win.

Trust and believe there are going to be games where the numbers don’t mirror that of last year. But this is a team built on unity, and that can transcend the numbers for a player like Maxey.
