Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey opened up about the front office trading away Jared McCain.
The Philadelphia 76ers' decision to trade sophomore guard Jared McCain looks worse with each passing day.
Not only are 76ers guards Quentin Grimes and Cameron Payne struggling to succeed, but McCain is also thriving with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the Thunder's win over the Chicago Bulls Tuesday, McCain tallied a team-high 20 points on 53.3% shooting and 4 of 9 shooting from three-point range in 25 minutes of action.
Philadelphia had a much more disappointing Tuesday, as they were blown out by the San Antonio Spurs 131-91. Following the tough loss, Maxey got honest about the 76ers cutting ties with McCain at this year's trade deadline.
"I don't think we're dwelling on it," Maxey said of the trade deadline and losing McCain. "Jared was a close friend of ours, a great teammate, a great person. So I definitely think we miss him, of course. I ain't gonna lie and say I don't miss Jared, but I'm happy for him. I watch him on OKC. I hope he does well every single night that he plays, except when he plays us, of course."
McCain is thriving in Oklahoma City, as he has the "second most 20-point games off the bench in the entire NBA since joining OKC," per Real App. He has scored 20 or more points in three of his 11 appearances with the Thunder.

Maxey continued, "This is a business at the end of the day. I've seen many people traded that I didn't want to get traded. Whatever the case may be, people left in free agency. You can't dwell on that, you know what I'm saying? You got to focus on the people in this building."
It's clear Maxey is taking the high road when it comes to his comments on the front office dealing McCain, but you have to imagine there's some underlying frustration regarding the move.
