JOEL EMBIID'S RETURN
Pasciolla: "Honestly a great game back for Embiid. He has a tendency in my eyes to either come back really slow or really good, and thankfully it was the latter of the two. He finished with 27 points in just 26 minutes of action. I mean, really, just a dominant game back for him. The thing that impressed me most was his playmaking throughout the night. He was just drawing so much attention from this shorthanded Pacers defense and then just kicking to the open man over and over again."
Aguirre: "I'm known as a very critical Joel Embiid critic... When it comes to Embiid, I've really just been disturbed in his past performances, especially in the playoffs and also the injuries, because there are times where they didn't take him seriously, but this is a good game to really bounce back and get into more of a rhythm."
VJ EDGECOMBE'S DOMINANT ROOKIE SEASON
Aguirre: "V.J. was my rookie of the year vote before the season, and then Cooper and Kon Knueppel went off for that game against each other. I think he'll finish in the top three. I like V.J... I see the motor in him; I love it. I love that kind of drive... If he's getting to the paint, that just shows he has a strong drive. The fact he's getting there as a rookie just shows that he's not getting bodied that often. I see promise there; he's very explosive."
Pasciolla: "Another guy who played really well against the Pacers and has been performing really well is rookie V.J. Edgcombe, who is just so exciting to watch, so athletic, so explosive down the lane... He's been playing fantastic basketball: 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals against Indiana last night. He's been on fire from three-point range as of late as well."
76ERS-HEAT PREVIEW
Pasciolla: "I'm obviously going to ride with my Sixers, assuming Joel Embiid plays."
Aguirre: "I'm going to give it to the Sixers. To me, they [the Heat] are just that team where, yeah, they have all this great offense, but if you don't have that defense, which they don't, if it comes down to that, I just don't trust this team to get a crucial stop."
