The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga is over, as the Milwaukee Bucks traded Giannis and Bobby Portis for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 3 first-round picks (including No. 13), 1 pick swap, and 1 second-rounder. 

Miami will also be sending unprotected first-rounders in 2031 and 2033 to the Bucks along with No. 13, a pick swap in 2030, and a 2033 second-rounder, according to Shams Charania.  

This is a deal that only involves the Heat and the Bucks, as no third party is a part of this deal. 

The Miami Heat were a team that emerged as a potential suitor for the former MVP early in the trade process, and they stayed engaged in talks throughout the summer as well. Miami gave up a lot of assets to acquire Giannis, but they believe it's worth it, as the Heat now have an elite forward to pair with Bam Adebayo. 

Last season, Giannis played in just 37 games, but in the games he did play, she showed he's still an effective player at 31 years old. He averaged 27.6 points per game, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. 

There was drama surrounding his injury situation, and many questioned if he was actually hurt that much last season, but he never showed signs of slowing down or becoming a different player. 

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a player who brings an elite presence in the paint on both sides of the ball. Offensively, this is a guy who can still score almost at will against some of the best big men in the NBA. 

One difference Giannis will see in his tenure with the Heat is a reliable second option next to him in the frontcourt. He was paired with Kris Middleton through much of his time in a Bucks uniform, but Bam Adebayo is a player who is capable of having an All-Star season. 

Last season, Adebayo averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game, with his most notable performance coming against the Washington Wizards on March 13th, where he scored 83 points. It will be interesting to see how they will share the ball with one another to find success. 

In terms of what the Bucks got back in the deal, they gained a substantial amount of assets from players and draft picks. Milwaukee may have lost many assets, but they have pieces to build around in Tyler Herro and Kel'el Ware that can kick-start their rebuild. 

The Milwaukee Bucks' rebuild officially starts now, but at least they have some talented young pieces to build around with multiple draft picks to look forward to.
