The Milwaukee Bucks finished the 2025-2026 season with a 32-50 record, in large part due to an injury-ridden season. In the middle of the season, the franchise also had to deal with trade negotiations surrounding star player and former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. 

The Bucks also fired head coach Doc Rivers at the conclusion of the season and are now in search of a new leader of the group. 

Bucks center Myles Turner recently shared some thoughts on how the franchise operated, saying players would show up late for practices, flights, and film sessions. Turner also alluded to the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo gets special treatment within the building. 

Bucks forward Bobby Portis spoke on Turner's comments on FanDuel Sports Network's show 'Run It Back' and came to Antetokounmpo's defense. 

Portis did not deny that Antetokounmpo gets treated differently compared to other players on the roster, but he believes his claims were a bit exaggerated. 

Portis has been a member of the Bucks since November 2020 and was a part of the 2021 championship team with Giannis. He is 31 years old and is entering the last year of his contract in 2026. 

Myles Turner signed with the Milwaukee Bucks on July 7, 2025, on a four-year, $108.9 million contract. He was previously with the Indiana Pacers for 10 years. 

Turner averaged 11.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in his first season in Milwaukee. 

There is no proof as to whether or not Myles Turner's comments have any truth to them, but after Bobby Portis came into defense for Antetokounmpo, it puts Turner against the wall with his teammates. 

While he may have meant no harm to Antetokounmpo or the rest of the franchise, it now puts the Bucks in a bad spot publicly, a situation that could have been avoidable and is tough to come back from. 

It's been reported that the Bucks are looking to trade Antetokounmpo between now and the NBA Draft. This is the franchise's chance to hit the reset button and move past the Giannis era. 

A player who could be attached to a Giannis trade is Bobby Portis, and if the Bucks want to avoid any kind of locker room drama, they can certainly consider adding Portis to negotiations. 

Bobby Portis is 31, and if the franchise wants to go younger, then moving off him would make sense. 

Milwaukee has many decisions to make this Summer, and the recent actions by Turner don't do any favors for the franchise.
