The future of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has become one of the biggest storylines heading into the NBA offseason, and one prominent analyst believes fans may not have to wait long for a resolution.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Bill Simmons suggested that if the Bucks decide to move from the two-time MVP, a blockbuster deal could come before the 2026 NBA Draft rather than during or after it. 

While Simmons stressed that he was sharing his prediction rather than reporting inside information, he believes the timing of a potential trade could happen within days.

"I feel like there's gonna be a big trade soon," Simmons said. "Like Giannis, I don't think that gets super close to the draft."

Simmons theorized that the NBA often allows the Finals to play out before major offseason news dominates the headlines. 

With that in mind, he speculated that any deal involving Antetokounmpo could occur after Game 4 and before Game 5 of the championship series.

The longtime NBA commentator also floated the Miami Heat as a possible destination for Antetokounmpo.

According to Simmons, Miami possesses assets that could make for an intriguing package, including the No. 13 selection in this year's draft along with additional players to satisfy salary-matching requirements.

For Milwaukee, receiving multiple lottery picks could provide an opportunity to quickly reshape the roster if the organization determines it needs to move in a different direction. The Bucks have remained competitive throughout Antetokounmpo's tenure, but early playoff exits and questions surrounding the team's aging core have fueled speculation about its long-term future.

Meanwhile, Miami has consistently been connected to superstar players whenever they become available. 

Landing Antetokounmpo would immediately transform the Heat into one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference and potentially create another championship-caliber roster.

Despite the growing rumors, there has been no public indication that Antetokounmpo has requested a trade or that Milwaukee is actively shopping its franchise cornerstone. He has said that he wants to be in Milwaukee. 

Antetokounmpo remains under contract and has repeatedly emphasized his desire to compete for championships, though he has also made it clear that winning remains his top priority.

Any trade involving a player of Antetokounmpo's caliber would likely require one of the largest packages in recent NBA history.

Multiple teams are expected to have interest should Milwaukee make him available, meaning the Heat would likely face significant competition.

If the Bucks ultimately choose to part ways with the face of their franchise, the NBA landscape could change overnight, and it could arrive even sooner than many expected.
