It’s safe to say the Milwaukee Bucks' season has been a complete and utter nightmare through 25 games. After a promising start to the year that saw Giannis Antetokounmpo and company win four of their first five games, the Bucks have gone just 6-19 since, have lost 10 of their last 12, and are now riding yet another streak of consecutive losses.

Fortunately, the Bucks did get a stretch of four days off from games between Sunday to Monday that coach Doc Rivers was hoping would allow the team to get back to some of the things they’ve clearly lapsed from during the recent abomination of a stretch. When asked by a reporter what the vibe was around the facility during practice, Rivers was strictly business.

“Just getting back to some basics defensively, starting there, and then some of our offensive spacing stuff,” Rivers said. “So, that I thought, you know, you have slippage during the season. I thought we had a good chance of working on it today. We'll work on it again tomorrow, just to get more organized. That's about it.”

Not A Perfect Start

One reason things haven’t progressed as quickly as the Bucks’ organization would have liked this year is the fact that their prized offseason acquisition, Myles Turner, hasn’t meshed in the system as seamlessly as they would have hoped, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and other key proponents of the roster missing time.

Rivers noted that while Turner still has some ways to go before it’s a fully comfortable situation, he’s been a very positive influence in the locker room and, for the most part, individually when he’s on the floor.

“I think it's gone okay with Myles, not great yet,” Rivers said. “I think Miles is going to be way better later than he is now. You know, he's been in one place for ten years. It's just going to take a minute. He still talks about that.

“Yet, he's still very positive in the locker room. He's been great around the guys, and then the plus-minus numbers are all pluses when he's on the floor. So, whatever he's doing, he's doing something good for our team, and that's a good thing."

The Bucks will look to pull themselves out of their recent freefall on Thursday, as they’re set to take on the Boston Celtics at the Fiserv Forum with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. EST.
