Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers had some high praise for Giannis Antetokounmpo after reaching an all-time scoring milestone

Giannis Antetokounmpo will go down as the greatest Milwaukee Bucks player of all time. While there's a debate between him and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar over who has the better career resume, Giannis has achieved more in Milwaukee than Kareem did, given that much of his success came with the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets, Giannis continued to make history, becoming the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to eclipse 21,000 career regular-season points. The players to do it faster than him are LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Michael Jordan, so elite company to say the least.

Doc Rivers Shares High Praise For Giannis

After Milwaukee's 116-99 win over the Nets on Saturday, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers had some high praise for Giannis and what he is on and off the court.

"Listen, every time he plays, I feel like he's breaking some kind of record. He is a generational player, and I've only been here a year and a half or two years, or whatever it is, I don't know. But he's a generational person, too. I think that's where we're all lucky, especially the people in Milwaukee is you know, the playing obviously, but the person," Rivers said.

Giannis is one of the few players in the NBA who have played for the same team for over a decade, and has not only made his mark on the basketball court, but in the community of Milwaukee. With all the trade talks around him this offseason, his connection to the community surely plays a factor in his desire to stay put.

As for his play on the court, Giannis showed why he's an all-time great on Saturday night, having 29 points and eight rebounds in just 19 minutes of action. The two-time MVP has battled injuries this season, and for him to put up that kind of production in a bench player's minutes is unbelievable.

In terms of Giannis' rankings with the Bucks all-time, he has long passed Abdul-Jabbar on that list, who ranks second with 14,211 points. He's at the top of nearly every Milwaukee all-time list, and is even in the Top 10 for three-pointers made, despite him averaging less than a make per game.

A much-needed win and a night to celebrate Giannis, the team is still just 9-12 on the season and will look to crawl closer to .500 when they face the Washington Wizards on Monday.
