Where are the 2021 champion Bucks now?
The Milwaukee Bucks may not be seeing the playoffs for a while now that they've entered into the pursuit of a rebuild for their franchise and that knowledge naturally takes the minds of Bucks fans back to the last time the Bucks were champions, back in 2021.
There isn't a single player from the starting five of the championship-winning Bucks team left on the roster in any capacity, but with one exception they are all still in the league and their individual career paths have differed wildly.
Jrue Holiday
A beloved guard and defensively-minded guard, Holiday made an immediate impact when he joined the Bucks after being traded to Milwaukee from the New Orleans Pelicans and just a few months later, Holiday was hoisting the Larry O-Brien trophy.

Right after that, though, Holiday was traded by the Trail Blazers to the Boston Celtics, where subsequently won another championship in 2024.
After that, Holiday agreed to a four-year contract with the Celtics, but he was traded back to the Trail Blazers in 2025, where he remains to this day.

Khris Middleton was in many ways the anchor of the Bucks and the duo he formed with Giannis Antetokounmpo became lights out. Middleton spent years with the Bucks alongside Antetokounmpo on the Bucks and they became an iconic pairing.
Since winning the championship in 2021, Middleton's career has been a rollercoaster ride. A MCL sprain during the 2022 playoffs knocked Middleton out until the next season and surgeries in both ankles in 2024 caused Middleton to miss considerable time as well.

But things wouldn't stop there as the Mavericks then traded him back to the Wizards, where he plays to this day.
P.J. Tucker
P.J. Tucker is the definition of a NBA journeyman. He played for eight different teams, the Bucks included, in his 14 year career and only played for the Bucks during the season they won the NBA Finals.

Brook Lopez
Brook Lopez is heading into his 19th NBA season after the Clippers picked up his team-option for the 2026-27 season. Other than one other notable name, Lopez had the longest career with the Bucks after wining the 2021 championship, playing with the Bucks until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo
Saving the best for last, the tale of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks is well-known across the NBA.
Seeing the decline of the Bucks ultimately culminate in their worst regular season finish in a decade last season, Antetokounmpo began to loudly complain about the state of the team to the point that it was speculated he was going to force a trade at the deadline.

Sam Navarro-Imagn ImagesThat of course never happened and Antetokounmpo continued to give vague and seemingly contradictory answers when asked what he thought his future with the Bucks looked like until it became clear that there was no salvaging his current relationship with the team.
That entire saga then culminated with the Bucks trading Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat so that he could team up with Bam Adebayo and the Bucks in return received a haul that has jumpstarted their rebuild today.
