The Milwaukee Bucks entered the 2025-26 season with the fans and the media unsure of what the team would look like. With Damian Lillard gone, as well as Brook Lopez, the team had to piece together what they could of their roster while trying to make Giannis Antetokounmpo happy and avoid a potential trade.
However, through 41 games this season, the Bucks sit at just 17-24, now on a three-game losing streak after suffering an 18-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Whether it's the defense, offense, or both, the Bucks have some problems on this roster that need to be addressed in some way, shape, or form.
While Ryan Rollins pointed out the other day that the team is fine offensively and needs to improve defensively, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo believes the team needs to address their problems on the offensive end instead.
Speaking to reporters after the loss to the Bucks, Giannis pointed out not only what the team needs to do, but himself as well.
"We gotta be more aggressive. We got to see the ball go in. We gotta stop playing like side to side and play downhill more. I got to facilitate more, try to create even more open looks as much as I can. That's pretty much it. We just got a lot of urgency, effort, [that needs to] be higher," he said.
The Bucks haven't scored over 110 points since their loss to the Golden State Warriors on January 7th, and are averaging 112.4 points per game on the season, 26th best. While their offensive rating is slightly better at 23rd, their 24th-ranked pace doesn't help them much at all.
With the trade deadline approaching on February 5th, all the attention in Milwaukee seems to have pivoted to rumors regarding Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant. The two-time All-Star is averaging 19.0 points and 7.6 assists this season on 40.1% shooting from the field.
While he's arguably having the worst offensive season of his career, shooting 20.8% from three-point range as well, the situation isn't helping him much, as the team has changed for the worse since parting ways with Taylor Jenkins last season. Morant could remain with the Grizzlies through this season, but beyond that seems unlikely.
If Milwaukee does want to make a splash and trade for Morant, they'll likely have to part ways with assets like Ryan Rollins and a first-round pick, meaning they need to be sure that he can return to that All-Star/All-NBA form he's been in the past.
Regardless, Milwaukee needs a change, and attempting a massive change like acquiring Morant might be what's best for them.
