
The Milwaukee Bucks will look to respond after a collapse on Sunday when they take on the Boston Celtics on Monday.
The Bucks lost 120-97 to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, snapping an eleven game losing streak for the Bulls. The Bucks have now lost two straight, failing to crack 100 points in both games. They now begin a five game homestand as they try to get into a Play-In spot. They are 26-33, three games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the final Play-In spot.
The Celtics are also on a back-to-back, but they had more success on Sunday, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers, 114-98. They have won two straight and six of their last seven. They are 11-2 in their last 13. This is a quick road trip between four home games. Boston is second in the East at 40-20, 5.5 games behind the Pistons for first and 1.5 games up on the Knicks.
This is the third meeting of the season between the two teams. The season series is even at 1-1 with the Bucks winning on December 11, and the Celtics winning 107-79 on February 1. They will meet once more on April 3.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE with a right calf strain.
The Bucks All-Star has been sidelined since January 23. He was expected to miss a month at the time of his injury. The Bucks went 9-11 with Giannis out of the lineup.
In 30 games this season, Giannis is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.6 assists.
ESPN reports that Giannis is expected to play.
Taurean Prince is OUT after undergoing neck surgery earlier in the season. He is not expected to return this year and Milwaukee filed for a Disabled Player Exception in his absence.
Alex Antetokounmpo and Cormac Ryan are both OUT on G-League two-way deals.
The Celtics will be missing a key player as Jaylen Brown is OUT with a non-COVID illness. He played 38 minutes against Philadelphia on Sunday, finishing with 27 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. He last missed a game on February 24.
Brown is averaging 29 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5 assists in 54 games this season.
Neemias Queta is also OUT on rest. He played 27 minutes against the Sixers, scoring 27 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. He has played in 13 straight games.
Jayson Tatum is still OUT after undergoing right Achilles surgery in the offseason. He has been practicing with the G-League Maine Celtics.
