Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo's viral reaction to Damian Lillard's three-point contest win

The Milwaukee Bucks suffered their third-straight first-round playoff exit in the 2025 postseason, losing in five games to the Eastern Conference Champions, the Indiana Pacers. While Indiana proved to be the best team in the East, Milwaukee wasn't helped by losing Damian Lillard to a torn Achilles.

The Bucks then headed into the offseason looking to make some aggressive moves to improve their roster, with one of those being waiving and stretching Damian Lillard's contract, opening the way for him to return to the Portland Trail Blazers. Ending his time in Milwaukee, it didn't appear to end his relationship with his star teammate.

Giannis And Dame Share Moment At All-Star

Even though Damian Lillard hasn't played a second in the NBA this season, he did suit up to represent the Portland Trail Blazers in the three-point contest, taking home the win and his third overall, becoming just the third player to win it three times.

Joining Larry Bird and Craig Hodges, Lillard had a moment with his former teammate after the win.

Seen showing the trophy off to former Bucks teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lillard told Giannis, "I'm gonna do it again next year." With the NBA All-Star set to take place in Phoenix in 2027, it seems as though Lillard will be chasing the record for the most three-point contest wins by an NBA player.

However, Lillard will have some tough competition, as Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry says that he'll compete in the 2027 three-point contest, looking to join Lillard as a three-time champion.

Therefore, 2027 could be a stacked field with Lillard, Curry, Klay Thompson, Devin Booker, and four other players to round it out to eight. If the NBA wants the most stacked field, it could include players like Michael Porter Jr., Kon Knueppel, Duncan Robinson, and even Milwaukee's AJ Green.

An eight-man field like that would arguably be the best in NBA history, and somehow,  only one person could walk away as the winner.

The All-Star Game itself saw a competitive boost this season with Victor Wembanyama, Kawhi Leonard, and Anthony Edwards leading the way, so perhaps the other events will get a boost going forward.

Giannis did miss out on the All-Star Game this season, but as a former All-Star Game MVP, he's sure to bring the intensity if he's healthy to play in 2027 in Phoenix.

However, if the three-point contest is also turning around, the NBA needs the same to happen to the dunk contest.
